Our story

An industry question that became a mission

A pile of removed mat borders — rubber waste kept out of the landfill

Our roots in the textile service industry go all the way back to the early days of mat manufacturing and industrial laundry rental service. The beginning of NuMat Systems was similar to other specialty manufacturing startups — broad product catalogs, an array of styles, competitive prices, and top quality.

The core of our current business grew out of a question every operation that rents mats was asking: could damaged mats be permanently repaired instead of replaced? Pursuing that answer put us on the path toward sustainability, and it's why we're still serving the laundry industry today. While we kept manufacturing new mats, the rest of the team experimented with raw and finished feed stock, engineered production tooling, and invented a unique solution for damaged mats — Remanufacturing.
